Is it all a game?
I'm trying to stay sane
To comprehend
The simple organization of remote events
Molecular complexity is a hydra
With a thousand heads
The logic of a clockwork of molecular machines
To create expectations for the unforeseen
The coordination of processes
Involved in learning
The cellular correlates
Of yearning
Molecules don't have tastes and desires
But they create physical priors
Is modeling complexity just a fad
I've seen some guys go mad
I want to understand the brain, they say
I'll settle for a post-doc's pay
I'm into the neural data
The diversity of cell types in neocortical strata
I want to cure Alzheimer's
I read some molecular cell biology primers
The neural circuits betray their mysteries
To the ones who make history
